JISC is responsible for providing the UK’s national research and education network (NREN) called JANET. For over 20 years, JANET has provided the foundation upon which, higher education and research have engaged with ICT. JANET provides the basis for a far-reaching transformation in teaching and learning and research, built upon one of the fastest, most secure and resilient networks in the world.
During the past 5 years the network has also been made available to the post-16 community. JANET now provides the interconnect for schools, making it the network for all education and research in the UK.
