Jorum is a service in development, run jointly by EDINA and Mimas.
Jorum hosts materials, covering a range of subject areas, that have been publicly funded as well as materials which have been developed within institutions. Learning resources in Jorum range from single assets (documents, images, diagrams) to comprehensive learning objects (interactive units and content packages).
Teaching resources found in Jorum will support teaching staff in doing their job, and might include tutor guides and staff development materials. Search for content on all of the JISC services websites
What we can do for you
There are two main elements to the service in development - a Contributor service and a User service.
User service
You can search, browse, preview, download, review, reuse and repurpose learning and teaching materials from the Jorum repository. You are only required to register once and then you can simply log in using your Athens username and password. First you need to check if your organisation has registered to use Jorum, you can find this out on the Jorum website.
Contributor service
Contributors can make their materials available to the community easily and freely. Materials are stored and catalogued in the system, making them accessible to a national audience of Further and Higher Education teaching staff. Your materials can be downloaded and repurposed by users, who are also able to provide comments and feedback on your work. To do this, both you and your institution need to sign a license agreement agreeing to Jorum’s terms and conditions. This is all explained on the Jorum website.
