JISC has established The JISC Content Procurement Company Ltd, a mutual company which trades as JISC Collections. The mission of the company is to negotiate with owners of digital content and publishers of online information to provide the UK further and higher education with a range of resources to support education and research.

Relevant online resources at special prices
JISC Collections negotiates agreements that bring online resources to the education and research communities at better prices. Many of the online resource are available at special rates, subsided by the JISC and with favorable terms and conditions, providing a rich and varied resource base support learning, teaching and research activities.
Getting the most from JISC Collections online resources
JISC Collections' portfolios of resources adhere to the JISC Model Licence which ensures that institutions can maximize the value of subscriptions, enabling:
- Unlimited concurrent use
- Provisions for walk-in library users
- 24/7 on-site and off-site access for all students and staff, including part time students and distance learners
The JISC Model Licence also allows all students and staff to use excerpts of text and images (with the appropriate citation) from these online resources in both print and electronic materials including:
- Course paces
- Presentations
- Study guides
- Virtual learning environments
- Student assignments
- Dissertation
- NESLi2 journal negotiations
The NESLi2 scheme is the JISC Collections-managed journal negotiation project. Each year NESLi2 negotiates the best possible agreements with the seventeen journal publishers selected by a survey of the JISC community. The Journals Working Group steers this activity and is responsible for developing and advancing strategy for cost-effective content acquisition and delivery of journals, which takes account of the dynamic nature of the journals marketplace and the changing and evolving needs of the JISC community.
