A 3 year framework for monitoring and evaluating the use of electronic information services.

JCALT has for almost 5 years monitored and evaluated the use of electronic information services (e-is). 

Aims and Objectives

  • an interview based survey to end users to establish patterns of use and non-use;
  • an online survey of the use of JISC services to profile users;
  • a survey of e-is provision to profile service provision;
  • a qualitative ongoing monitoring of e-is of actual and virtual "sites" within UK HE and FE;
  • and an associated programme of studies on the behaviour and needs of specific disciplinary groups;

This longitudinal study will continue into the academic year 2003/4 with Cycle 5. 

The work is carried out by two teams JUSTIES and JUBILEE respectivel at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and the University of Northumbria at Newcastle.
