This project will develop a comprehensive and authoritative package, or portfolio, of information and materials covering all of the resources and services that JISC has to offer the ACL community.

Portfolio for ACL Development Officers

Start date: 1 July 2004

End date: 31 March 2005

Funding programme: JISC Organisational Support programme

JISC theme(s): e-Administration

As part of the commitment to extending the work of JISC to Adult and Community Learning, a Development Officer, with responsibility for ACL is being appointed by each of the English RSCs. The work of the Development Officers will focus, in the first instance, on assisting local authorities and other managing agents with the preparation and implementation of strategic plans for ICT in-line with the guidelines produced by the Sector Support team and adopted by the LSC.

This project will develop a comprehensive and authoritative package, or portfolio, of information and materials covering all of the resources and services that JISC has to offer the ACL community. This will both guide the new Advisors and be a source of information for the new client group.

The main contents of the portfolio would be:

  1. A publication – JISC for ACL – a description of appropriate services and products together with links to key JISC sources
  2. A collection of JISC resources on CD: samples of usable content; links to all appropriate JISC content that will be free to use; samples/descriptions of subscription content
