JISC theme(s): Information environment

This programme covers projects working towards an infrastructure to support a possible future national union catalogue for monographs and serials in the UK.

This work has two strands:

  • Procurement of a pilot serials union catalogue (SUNCAT)
  • Project work to further interoperability between the eLib Phase 3 Clumps, which are virtual union catalogues and Copac, a physical union catalogue. This area of work is also strongly related to the JISC’s Join-up cluster of projects, which are working to provide an infrastructure to discover, locate and access serials at an article level.
