nfrared links have recently been supplied as standard equipment by a number of manufacturers of notebook computers and peripherals. They would appear to offer considerable advantages to libraries and computing services in higher education. This project will evaluate the benefits of using infrared communications to provide fuss-free "walk-up" access to shared peripherals and to network resources in classrooms, libraries and similar areas.
