This report covers research into the use of videoconferencing for teaching and learning at De Montfort University during the period 1994 –1998. The research concerns the use of room (or studio) based videoconferencing.  Initial research was conducted on an informal basis and the results of this are presented in Section 1.  This research investigated expectations of videoconferencing and compared these to the limited experience of usage at that time.
