Strategy

JISC's six strategic aims reflect and support government objectives and the needs of the education and research communities.

JISC will deliver its mission through:

  • JISC's mission is to provide world-class leadership in the innovative use of Information and Communications Technology to support education and researchinnovative and sustainable ICT infrastructure, services and practice that support institutions in meeting their mission
  • promoting the development, uptake and effective use of ICT to support learning and teaching
  • promoting the development, uptake and effective use of ICT to support research
  • promoting the development, uptake and effective use of ICT within institutions and in support of their management
  • developing and implementing a programme to support institutions' engagement with the wider community
  • continuing to improve its own working practices

The strategy gives an overall direction to the work of the JISC sub-committees and programmes. The JISC Board will receive a six monthly report detailing progress against the strategic aims, so the strategy will be kept under continuous review. The strategy is supported by an operating plan which is a dynamic plan that is reviewed and updated on a quarterly basis.
