Terms of reference

The e-Learning capital programme advisory board followed on from the Distributed e-Learning programme advisory board. Representative membership remained more or less the same. The Advisory Board will:

  • Develop an agreed understanding and overview of the scope of the capital e-Learning  programme and sub-themes, with particular reference to the broad aims of the Programme;
  • Take responsibility for the respective themes, ensure that links emanating from the themes are identified and feed into the overall running of the programme
  • Identify synergies and promote alignments with developments and organisations both outside and within the JISC community
  • Offer advice to the programme on developing practices and standards that should be incorporated into the programme
  • Comment on and approve community calls, evaluate proposals and make funding recommendations to the appropriate JISC committee
  • Steer the resulting funded activity to ensure a consistent and coherent approach
  • View draft and final reports from commissioned work
  • Recommend additional work that could enhance the objectives of the programme
  • Recommend re-adjustment of budgets across themes as necessary
  • Offer advice on dissemination, sustainability strategies and evaluation for the programme
  • Report to the appropriate committees and make recommendations based on the programme‘s output
  • Meet 2/3 times a year as required until the successful conclusion of the programme
